Alfredo Montalvo, Alfredo Montalvo,
R.N. is the Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at the United States
Army Institute of Surgical Research(USAISR). He has an MSN from the
University of California at San Francisco in Adult Mental Health
Psychiatric Nursing and an MEd. from Teacher's College, Columbia
University, New York, New York. He has been a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse
Specialist for over 25 years. He has performed stress debriefings to
soldiers and civilians in Korea, Germany, Cuba, and stateside. He is the
Principal Investigator for "Telemedicine-Based Burn Research Initiative".
He also founded the weekly support group for families of burn survivors on
the Ad-hoc Committee for pain management. He also created a discharge and
follow-up screening tool to identify issues related to burns at Brooke
Army Medical Center, USAISR. He is currently spear-heading the pain
assessment tool for patients who cannot verbalize their pain on the verbal
assessment scale at USAISR.
