L.D. Britt,
L.D. Britt, MD, MPH, FACS, FCCM, is the Chairman and
Brickhouse Professor of
Surgery at the Eastern
Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.
He is a graduate of
Harvard University Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.
In addition to being the chairman of the Department of Surgery at EVMS, he
is the
Chief of the Division of Trauma
and Critical Care and directs the Regional Burn Center. He also serves as
the Medical Director of the Shock Trauma Center.
He is
on several editorial boards and has published numerous peer-reviewed
papers and book chapters in all aspects of General Surgery, Trauma and
Critical Care.
He is nationally recognized as a Surgical
educator and has been awarded the prestigious Sir William Osler Award as
outstanding teacher of the year eight times.
